We had a very powerful service today. We shared the story of Christina, a lady who attends Revolution and is battling bone cancer. We brought her on stage at the end of the service and prayed for God to heal her. We’re just stupid enough to believe that He still does things like this.

Revolution Church loves some “Mighty to Save”. It has proven to be one of the most powerful songs that we do. I love the part that breaks down with just drums and vocals. Our people straight up bring it in that section. I love that I can just step away from the mic and I don’t have to say or sing a word, because the crowd takes over.

Here’s the set:

1. My Future Decided
2. Mighty to Save
3. Healer

1. Happy Day (Tim Hughes)
2. The Time Has Come (Hillsong United)
3. Blessed Be Your Name (Matt Redman)
4. Life is Beautiful (Sixx:A.M.)
5. Majesty (Charlie Hall)

Today was a big test. We had anything and everything you could imagine going wrong in run-through. Lots of things to address and changes to be made for the future. Can’t wait to see what God does through it.

1. Sun Stand Still (Elevation Worship)
2. All We Need (Charlie Hall)
3. Your Grace Is Enough (Chris Tomlin)
4. Alive (Kenny Wayne Shephard)
5. My Future Decided (Hillsong United)

So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything of real substance. Today I had a thought based on my experience at last night’s rehearsal. I have to say that last night ranks up there as one of the “most fun rehearsals ever” list. God showed up in a big way and the band absolutely dug it. To set this up, I’ve got to take you back to last Sunday.

Gary gave an incredible message last week about praying “Sun Stand Still” prayers. God really moved in the hearts of our band due to this message. One of our bass players, in particular, has started praying “Sun Stand Still” prayers. He was sharing before rehearsal about how his prayer life had changed dramatically because of that message. He was no longer going to God with prayers that were trivial and spur of the moment, but with prayers of substance and trusting in God’s power to answer them. Him sharing this with the rest of us inspired us as a band to pray Sun Stand Still prayers together last night. We asked God to not only fill our time with Him on Sunday, but to also do it right then and there and He didn’t disappoint. We had a blast. We believe that God only has greater things for Revolution Church and we can’t wait to see what happens.

Peace.

1. I’m Not Ashamed (Hillsong)
2. Mighty to Save (Hillsong)
3. Let God Arise (Tomlin)
4. We Stand (McDerment)
5. Sun Stand Still (Elevation Worship)

As we continue to write new songs for the Revolution Worship Album, I couldn’t agree more with this post from Wade. Such a basic concept, but one that is very elusive.
